Strong Base Anion Exchange Resin is the type of ion exchange resin with functional group of quaternary ammonium.
Felite™ Resin manufactures an extensive range of Strong Base Anion (SBA) exchange resins based on a polystyrenic or polyacrylic matrix with either gel and macroporous structures, including Type I with a trimethyl ammonium group and Type II with a dimethylethanol ammonium group. They are supplied in a wide range of grades and ionic forms to optimize performance. Generally, gel resins have a higher breaking weight and offer higher activity levels (exchange capacity). Due to their pores, macroporous resins have better resistance to osmotic shock attrition, better access to the active sites, and greater resistance to fouling due to the large surface area.

Felite™ gel type I strong base anion resins are intended for use in the hydroxide form for all types of deionizing systems as well as in the chloride form for removal of both strong and weak acid radicals such as sulfate, nitrate, arsenate, chromate, and silicate to extremely low concentration levels. SBA resins with higher crosslinked are more resistant to organic fouling.
Type II strong base anion resin in the hydroxide form is especially well suited for use for systems where amine odors might be objectionable.
Macroporous type strong base anion resin can be used as an organic scavenger placed in front of a deionization system. Working in the chloride form, it removes the natural organic substances from the raw water, protecting subsequent anion exchange resins from possible irreversible organic fouling.
